- Foundations of our church’s LEGACY - $1,200,000
We are called to follow Jesus and share His hope with those around us. As we prepare for our future home, we must ensure that we establish a foundational culture of generosity to support our church’s ongoing ministries both now and in the future. The first component of Foundations is to resource NewCo’s ministry plan for the next two years. We are stewards of God’s dream and vision for our church, and that dream is bigger than us.
- Foundations of our church’s FUTURE - $2,000,000
Luke 14 calls us to make thoughtful and careful preparations for the cost of what God sets in front of us. The next season for NewCo will require that we have a flex-use facility that better enables us to serve families, children, and even the marketplace in our community. The second component of Foundations is to lay a financial foundation for the acquisition and development of a permanent home for our church. We need to be prepared to move when God moves.
Our Primary Goal: Everyone All In
We want every ONE who calls NewCo their church home to make a commitment and be “all in” with Foundations. It will be powerful to see what God will do as we each surrender to making the two-year sacrificial commitment He asks of us. Now is the time we come together and heighten the unity of our church around advancing this vision and mission.
Our God-sized dream is for a community-first, flex-use property for families, children, and the marketplace ministry that is accessible seven days a week. We are believing that a space like this can help repair a bridge of trust between our community and the church, and ultimately with God.
We see church offices that include a public coffee shop and co-op working space.
We see kids environments that allow for a preschool in the morning and kids activities and classes at night (like dance, sports, etc.).
We see outdoor spaces such as a public playground for families, a lawn for outdoor events and an amphitheater for concerts.
We see an incubator for non-profits and startups to propel entrepreneurs who have a dream to impact our community.
We see these kinds of ministries coming from the God-given dreams of the people of New Community.
A One-Fund Strategy is different from the type of campaigns you may have experienced in the past, where people make a giving pledge that goes directly into a designated fund, such as a building fund.
The challenge with that approach is that it ultimately limits the resources of a church and can unintentionally prioritize the facility over ministering to people.
But with a one - fund approach it’s the opposite: it keeps the ONE in front of the FUND.
Foundations will prioritize our current ministry plan for the next 2-years while also creating space for us to prepare for the future. And it also facilitates clear transparency throughout the process of how the funds are being allocated.
And in addition, it really follows the New Testament model of generosity in Acts 4, where believers gave out of obedience to Christ and then trusted their spiritual leaders to direct those resources as God leads.
in 2023, NewCo was so generous raising over $500,000 for what we called our first, 'Discovery Phase' to this process.
During that year, we were able to connect with architects, commercial real estate brokers and consultants who could hear our vision and help us understand the scope of the project. Together, we underwent a needs analysis of the programming of the church and the future vision. A pro forma was developed, defining building and lot parameters, soft cost estimates and overall timelines. This information has informed our decisions and goals with FOUNDATIONS.
In addition, we met with multiple county officials to share the vision. We received overwhelming support as they shared how a property like this would help meet some of the key needs of our community.
Finally, over $400,000 of those initial funds raised have been set aside in a money market account so we could be ready to move when God moves.
The goal of $2,000,000 to go towards a permanent home is most likely not enough to cover the full cost of a building. However, after consulting with a team of architects, commercial brokers and design professionals, but between this, combined with our current savings, and the expansion of our annual ministry plan- NewCo would be in a strong position to take a significant step forward towards our God-sized dream.
No. We are actively engaged in a search process now and will make an offer once the right property comes available. The two-year timing of the Foundation Initiative will not necessarily mirror our purchase or move-in timeline.
