It’s a fact: no one is leaving the church faster than women.
Too many women feel invalidated and undervalued in their local churches. They encounter a glass ceiling faster on Sundays than they do any other day of the week. Their voice and their perspective are too often missing from the pulpit and from the leadership table. What is most heartbreaking, and alarming, is that as women are leaving, they are taking the next generation along with them.
Jesus modeled a life that empowers women. He told Mary Magdalene to announce His resurrection. The Samaritan woman was the first to declare He was the Messiah. He used Lydia to start a wave of His truth that would go the ends of the earth. Jesus gave women their voice and His heart is to see them empowered to lead.
Now, we have the opportunity to follow His empowerment model. We need to invest in women and celebrate their value and worth. That’s why we started Bloom, to invest in women of influence and empower their voice within the church and the community.
